The INCI list is long, mandatory and unforgiving

Ingredients must appear in descending order of concentration using INCI nomenclature, and the type still has to be legible. That is a lot of small text on a small panel. Set it as real type at real size early — if it does not fit legibly on the carton you picked, the carton is wrong, not the type.

The mistake this category makes

Choosing a finish that fights the artwork

Soft-touch lamination is the category signature, and it darkens and slightly mutes everything under it. Brands approve a bright on-screen design and receive a noticeably deeper printed one. Decide the finish before you sign off on colour, and specify Pantone for anything that has to hold exactly.

How you actually make it

  1. Pick the construction and type your real dimensions. The dieline is generated at that exact size and validated against real manufacturing limits as it draws — if a size cannot be folded, glued and shipped, it says so before you design anything on it.
  2. Describe your brand and the AI designs the artwork directly onto that dieline — not onto a picture of a box.
  3. Place your own logo, barcode and any required panel yourself. The AI leaves them exactly as placed unless you ask it to change them.

What packaging do I need for a skincare launch?

Most launches need a primary container, a folding carton around it, and a label. A rigid box is worth adding only for a set or a premium tier where the box itself is part of the product.

How small can the ingredient text be?

Small enough to fit, large enough to read — and in practice legibility is the binding constraint, not the panel size. Lay the INCI list out at real size before you finalise the carton dimensions rather than after.

Does soft-touch lamination change my colours?

Yes, noticeably — it deepens and slightly mutes what is under it. Specify Pantone for any colour that has to match exactly, and expect the printed result to read richer than the screen.
