Settle this before you design
The oxygen absorber and the hang hole both live in the top seal
A sachet of absorber goes in before the final seal, and the euro slot or round hang hole is punched through the seal band above it. That band therefore has to be tall enough for both — plan on about an inch of clear film above the zipper, with no artwork you care about in it. Decide whether you are hanging the bag before you design, because retrofitting a hang hole eats the top of the front panel.
The mistake that costs a print run
Treating the window as free
Buyers want to see the product, so a window gets added late — and it lands on top of the panel that carried the nutrition block and the barcode. A window also removes barrier exactly where you cut it, which matters more for a fatty product than for a dry one. Place the window first, at a size the film can still protect around, and lay the required copy out on what is left.
How you actually make it
- Open the structure above and type your real dimensions. The dieline is generated at that exact size and validated against real manufacturing limits as it draws — if a size cannot be folded, glued and shipped, it says so before you design anything on it.
- Describe your brand and the AI designs the artwork directly onto that dieline — not onto a picture of a package.
- Place your own logo, barcode and any required panel yourself. The AI leaves them exactly as placed unless you ask it to change them.
- Fold it in live 3D to check it, then download print-ready files to use with any printer — or have TWOFORM manufacture it.
Questions about custom jerky bags
Do I need an oxygen absorber in a jerky bag?
Almost always, unless you are packing under gas flush. Jerky holds enough moisture and fat that residual oxygen in the headspace will drive both mould risk and rancidity well inside the shelf life you want to print.
What size bag suits a 2.5 oz jerky pack?
Around 5in wide by 7.5in tall with a modest bottom gusset, which leaves room for a zipper, an absorber sachet and a hang hole above it. Jerky packs dense, so the bag is small for its weight compared with most snacks.
Can I put a window in a jerky pouch?
Yes, though it is a deliberate trade: the window area carries no barrier, so keep it small, keep it away from the seals, and expect it to be the limiting factor on shelf life rather than the film around it.
