Settle this before you design

Loose whole-leaf tea sits near 0.1 to 0.15 g/ml, so 4 oz occupies something like 800 to 1,100 ml. Cut and fannings-grade tea packs several times denser. If you sell both, the same declared weight will not share a bag. Measure the volume of your actual leaf grade and size from that, every time the grade changes.

Choosing a clear pouch because the leaf looks beautiful
It does, and light is what destroys it. A fully clear pouch fades delicate greens and whites and lets aroma-driving oils degrade fast. If you want the leaf visible, use a small window on one panel with a barrier film everywhere else, and keep the window off the panel that faces the shop lighting.

- Describe your brand and the AI designs the artwork directly onto that dieline — not onto a picture of a package.
- Place your own logo, barcode and any required panel yourself. The AI leaves them exactly as placed unless you ask it to change them.

What size pouch holds 4 oz of loose leaf tea?
Around 6 × 9in with a 3.5in bottom gusset for whole-leaf grades — roughly a litre of usable volume. Broken and fannings grades need considerably less at the same weight.
Does loose tea need a barrier pouch?
Yes. Aroma compounds pass through plain films quickly and light degrades delicate leaf, so a metallised or foil laminate is doing the real work behind whatever the pouch looks like.
Should a tea pouch have a zipper?
For anything above about 2 oz, yes — it is used over weeks or months. Leave a proper tear strip above the zipper so the first opening does not pull the film through it.
