Custom Macaron Boxes
Macarons are the most fragile thing a bakery ships and they are sold almost entirely on presentation. The insert and the opening motion matter more than any other decision on the box.
Skip the blank page
You already know what you are packaging, so there is nothing to set up. This opens the design engine with the drawer / slide structures on screen — then you type your own dimensions and the dieline is generated at that exact size.
The structures macaron boxes actually ship in
Every one of these is a construction TWOFORM generates a real production dieline for, at your own dimensions — not a template you have to fit your product into. Each opens the engine already on that package type.
Settle this before you design
Individual cavities, sized to the shell not the recipe
Macaron shells vary by a few millimetres between batches and the filling squeezes out if the cavity grips them. Measure a real production run, take the widest, and cut cavities two millimetres over that with a soft-walled insert. Loose macarons rub their shells together and arrive scuffed; tight ones arrive squeezed.
The mistake that costs a print run
A lid that touches the tops
If the lid contacts the shells, every knock in transit is transmitted straight into them and they crack across the top. Leave a few millimetres of air above the highest point of the tallest macaron, and check it with the insert seated rather than with a ruler against the box wall.
How you actually make it
- Open the structure above and type your real dimensions. The dieline is generated at that exact size and validated against real manufacturing limits as it draws — if a size cannot be folded, glued and shipped, it says so before you design anything on it.
- Describe your brand and the AI designs the artwork directly onto that dieline — not onto a picture of a package.
- Place your own logo, barcode and any required panel yourself. The AI leaves them exactly as placed unless you ask it to change them.
- Fold it in live 3D to check it, then download print-ready files to use with any printer — or have TWOFORM manufacture it.
Questions about custom macaron boxes
What size box fits 12 macarons?
A 6 × 2 arrangement of standard shells lands near 8 × 6in of footprint at about 2in tall. The insert's outside dimensions set the box, so design that first.
Do macaron boxes need a window?
They sell well with one, and the colours are the product. Put it in the lid, keep it clear of the hinge or the lift edge, and accept that a windowed lid is less stiff than a solid one.
How do I stop macarons cracking in transit?
Stop them moving and stop the lid touching them. A cavity insert plus a few millimetres of headroom does more than any amount of outer padding.
