Custom Retail Shopping Bags
A shopping bag is carried through a street by someone who has just bought something, which makes it the most-seen piece of packaging most retailers own. It is also a load-bearing structure with handles.
Skip the blank page
You already know what you are packaging, so there is nothing to set up. This opens the design engine with the euro tote structures on screen — then you type your own dimensions and the dieline is generated at that exact size.
The structures retail shopping bags actually ship in
Every one of these is a construction TWOFORM generates a real production dieline for, at your own dimensions — not a template you have to fit your product into. Each opens the engine already on that package type.
Settle this before you design
The print is one continuous wrap, not four separate panels
A euro tote is printed as a single sheet that wraps front, gusset, back and gusset before it is folded, so a design that ignores the gusset folds will have its logo cut by them. Lay artwork out on the flat wrap with the fold positions marked, and keep anything that must read whole inside the front or back panel.
The mistake that costs a print run
Choosing a bag size after choosing the products
A bag that will not take your most common purchase is worthless, and one sized to your rarest large item wastes material on every sale. Find the two or three items you sell most and size the main bag to the largest of those, then add a second size only if the range genuinely demands it.
How you actually make it
- Open the structure above and type your real dimensions. The dieline is generated at that exact size and validated against real manufacturing limits as it draws — if a size cannot be folded, glued and shipped, it says so before you design anything on it.
- Describe your brand and the AI designs the artwork directly onto that dieline — not onto a picture of a package.
- Place your own logo, barcode and any required panel yourself. The AI leaves them exactly as placed unless you ask it to change them.
- Fold it in live 3D to check it, then download print-ready files to use with any printer — or have TWOFORM manufacture it.
Questions about custom retail shopping bags
What size shopping bag should I order?
Size it to the item you sell most, not the biggest thing in the shop. A medium tote around 33 × 10 × 28cm covers most apparel and gift purchases; a second size is only worth it if a real proportion of sales does not fit.
Can a shopping bag be printed all the way round?
Yes — the bag is printed as one continuous wrap covering front, back and both gussets. Design on the flat wrap with the fold lines marked so nothing important lands on a crease.
Do the handles limit what the bag can carry?
They do. Ribbon handles are attached to the top edge, and load ultimately concentrates there, so match the bag size and the handle specification to the weight you actually put in it.
