Settle this before you design
Three quarters of an inch is the floor, and favors get close to it
Folded board cannot go below about three quarters of an inch on any axis before the creases tear. Favor boxes for a single sweet or a small candle often sit near that limit, and a box that folds perfectly in a sample can be marginal at production speed. Keep at least a quarter inch of margin over the minimum if you can.
The mistake that costs a print run
A design that only works assembled perfectly
A hundred and fifty boxes folded at a kitchen table will not all be square. Designs that rely on a graphic lining up exactly across a fold, or on a ribbon sitting in one precise position, look wrong on most of the run. Choose a layout that tolerates a couple of millimetres of misalignment.
How you actually make it
- Open the structure above and type your real dimensions. The dieline is generated at that exact size and validated against real manufacturing limits as it draws — if a size cannot be folded, glued and shipped, it says so before you design anything on it.
- Describe your brand and the AI designs the artwork directly onto that dieline — not onto a picture of a package.
- Place your own logo, barcode and any required panel yourself. The AI leaves them exactly as placed unless you ask it to change them.
- Fold it in live 3D to check it, then download print-ready files to use with any printer — or have TWOFORM manufacture it.

What size favor box holds a small gift?
Around 2.5in in each direction suits a sweet, a small candle or a trinket. Keep every axis comfortably above three quarters of an inch, which is where folded board stops working.
Which favor box is fastest to assemble?
A snap-lock base folds up in three motions with no glue, which matters enormously across a couple of hundred boxes. Tuck bases take longer and rigid drawers arrive already made.
Can favor boxes be printed inside?
Yes, and on a small box the inside is a large proportion of what is seen when it is opened. It is a separate printable surface with its own dieline.
