Settle this before you design

An insert that only packs one way slows the whole run

A tray with tight cavities looks superb and doubles the time to pack each box. If a kit is assembled by hand in volume, the insert has to be obvious and forgiving — a clear place for each item, with enough tolerance that it drops in rather than being aligned. Design for the person packing the hundredth box, not the first.

The mistake that costs a print run

A kit that cannot absorb an item change

Kit contents change — an item goes out of stock, a booklet gets thicker, a new product is added. An insert cut to exact cavities means a new insert every time. Leave one flexible compartment, or size cavities to a family of items rather than to one specific product, and the kit survives a year rather than a quarter.

How you actually make it

  1. Open the structure above and type your real dimensions. The dieline is generated at that exact size and validated against real manufacturing limits as it draws — if a size cannot be folded, glued and shipped, it says so before you design anything on it.
  2. Describe your brand and the AI designs the artwork directly onto that dieline — not onto a picture of a package.
  3. Place your own logo, barcode and any required panel yourself. The AI leaves them exactly as placed unless you ask it to change them.
  4. Fold it in live 3D to check it, then download print-ready files to use with any printer — or have TWOFORM manufacture it.

Questions about custom welcome kit boxes

What size box suits a welcome kit?

Lay out the contents in the arrangement you want and measure the packed block — typically 12 × 9 × 4in for a kit with a garment, a notebook and a few small items. The insert's outside dimensions set the box.

Should a welcome kit ship in its own box?

Only if you are content for the printed box to carry the courier label and the handling marks. A plain outer keeps the presentation box pristine for the moment it is opened.

How do I keep assembly fast?

A forgiving insert, a box that folds in one motion, and a fixed packing order. Tight cavities and a fiddly closure are what turn a hundred-box run into a day's work.
