Custom Can Koozies

A koozie is a wrap-around print on a foam blank that will be squashed flat in a pocket and stretched around a can. The distortion between those two states is the whole design problem.

Skip the blank page

You already know what you are packaging, so there is nothing to set up. This opens the design engine with the can koozie — standard 12 oz structures on screen — then you type your own dimensions and the dieline is generated at that exact size.

The structures can koozies actually ship in

Every one of these is a construction TWOFORM generates a real production dieline for, at your own dimensions — not a template you have to fit your product into. Each opens the engine already on that package type.

Settle this before you design

The print is applied flat and then wrapped around a cylinder

The blank is a flat rectangle and the finished koozie is a tube, so the artwork stretches slightly across the wrap and the two ends meet at a seam. Keep the logo centred on one face, keep type well away from the seam, and avoid designs that need a straight line to run continuously round the whole circumference.

The mistake that costs a print run

Fine detail on a compressible foam surface

Foam is soft and slightly textured, so hairlines, small reversed type and subtle gradients lose their edges. Bold shapes, solid colour and generous type do work. Take the design you would use on a label and simplify it by one level before it goes on foam.

How you actually make it

  1. Open the structure above and type your real dimensions. The dieline is generated at that exact size and validated against real manufacturing limits as it draws — if a size cannot be folded, glued and shipped, it says so before you design anything on it.
  2. Describe your brand and the AI designs the artwork directly onto that dieline — not onto a picture of a package.
  3. Place your own logo, barcode and any required panel yourself. The AI leaves them exactly as placed unless you ask it to change them.
  4. Fold it in live 3D to check it, then download print-ready files to use with any printer — or have TWOFORM manufacture it.

Questions about custom can koozies

What size is a standard can koozie?

A flat blank of roughly 4 × 5in, which wraps a standard 12 oz can. It is a fixed foam blank rather than a made-to-measure size.

Can a koozie be printed on both sides?

The blank wraps around the can, so what looks like two sides is one continuous print. Design it as a single wrap with the seam accounted for rather than as a front and a back.

How detailed can a koozie design be?

Less detailed than a label. Foam absorbs fine detail, so bold shapes and solid colours hold up while hairlines and small type do not.
