Custom Hardware Packaging

Hardware is heavy for its size, sharp at the edges and sold by specification from a peg wall. The pack has to hold weight on a hook without tearing and get the specification across in two seconds.

Skip the blank page

You already know what you are packaging, so there is nothing to set up. This opens the design engine with the five-panel hanger structures on screen — then you type your own dimensions and the dieline is generated at that exact size.

The structures hardware packaging actually ship in

Every one of these is a construction TWOFORM generates a real production dieline for, at your own dimensions — not a template you have to fit your product into. Each opens the engine already on that package type.

Settle this before you design

The hang hole carries the whole weight, on one narrow strip of board

A heavy pack hanging on a hook concentrates its entire load at the top of the hole, and a single-thickness board tears there. A five-panel hanger doubles the board at that point by construction. If you are using a plain carton, either reinforce the hole or move to a format that has the reinforcement built in.

The mistake that costs a print run

Brand first, specification second

Hardware is bought by size, count, thread and material. A customer scanning a peg wall for an M6 bolt is not reading your brand, and a pack that leads with the logo makes them work. Put the specification at the top in the largest legible type and let the brand identify the range through colour and layout.

How you actually make it

  1. Open the structure above and type your real dimensions. The dieline is generated at that exact size and validated against real manufacturing limits as it draws — if a size cannot be folded, glued and shipped, it says so before you design anything on it.
  2. Describe your brand and the AI designs the artwork directly onto that dieline — not onto a picture of a package.
  3. Place your own logo, barcode and any required panel yourself. The AI leaves them exactly as placed unless you ask it to change them.
  4. Fold it in live 3D to check it, then download print-ready files to use with any printer — or have TWOFORM manufacture it.

Questions about custom hardware packaging

What packaging suits fasteners sold by the pack?

A sealed flat bag with a printed header card that takes the hang hole, or a five-panel hanger carton for heavier counts. Both put the size and count where a customer scanning a rack will see them.

Why do hanging packs tear at the hole?

Single-thickness board concentrates the whole load at the top of the hole. A five-panel hanger doubles the board there by construction, which is what the extra panel is for.

Should hardware packs show the product?

Usually yes — customers check thread, finish and head type visually. A window backed with film or a clear bag lets them do that without opening the pack.
